Most of the low power ISM band radio modules operate under FCC Part 15.231 (315MHz, 418MHz or 433MHz) and FCC Part 15.249 (915MHz). These Unlicensed Bands have limitation on Effective Radiated Power (ERP) or Electric Field Strength at 3metres which restricts the operating range to less than 200m line of sight.
Following 12.5kHz channel spacing Narrow Band FM Radiometrix Modules can be customised to operate on one of the above bands.
For application requiring few kilometres of operating range, a Licensed Band radio should be used under Title 47 Part 90 of Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) of Federal Communications Commission (FCC) which deals with Private Land Mobile Radio (PLMR) services.

However, unlike typical ISM band radio modules which are low cost Wide Band FM/FSK radio modules, licensed band radio should be 12.5kHz or 25kHz Narrow Band FM/FSK radio modules. They are designed with ±5ppm frequency accuracy TCXO / VCTCXO referenced synthesizer for Multichannel operation which makes them physically larger and expensive compared typical wide band FM radio modules.
